About

Stone Creek Straps is a one woman operation.  All straps are handmade by me, using only the finest materials and leatherworking techniques.

My goal at Stone Creek is to provide watch lovers with an affordable means of acquiring quality custom leather straps.  In order to achieve a high quality finished product, I take great care to perfect every part of the strapmaking process.

My leather is chosen based on its uniqueness, durability and texture.  I use primarily polyester, braided nylon, and irish linen for stitching.  My straps are handsewn, using a two-needle saddle-stitch.  I use neatsfoot oil to moisturize and protect the leather.  The edges of my straps are burnished using either edge dye, gum tragacanth or edge kote (depending on the desired finish).  In many instances, it is necessary to repeat the burnishing process several times to achieve the desired result.

I use only handtools when making my straps.  This includes an end punch and mallet to cut the tip, a groover to make a stitch line, an overstitch wheel to mark my stitch holes, an awl or 3-prong punch and mallet to pre-punch my stitch holes, and a rotary hole punch to make the buckle holes.

While a strap must be functional, it can be so much more.  I hope that you find a Stone Creek Strap that compliments your watch, as well as your personality.
